15 Sharjah workshops attract young graduates to the media industry

The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), in its successful participation in the just-concluded Dawahi Festival 10, held up to 15 workshops on career opportunities in various fields of media and government in the part of the Job Shadowing program.
The Job Shadowing program aims to train and prepare young graduates of various communication and journalism colleges and employees of various government and private entities in the country by encouraging them to join the media and administration sector, guided by the expertise and insights from SGMB staff and media. professionals.
More than 300 young graduates and professionals participated in the Job Shadowing Program workshops held at Al Qarayen Park in Sharjah during the Dawahi Festival, which ran from December 9 to 31. The workshops helped potential candidates to acquire skills such as media management, organization of international events and forums, media coverage via social media, design of their own publications and websites, editing and television direction. In addition, they learned the basics such as administrative skills, job interviews, official email correspondence, budgeting, and essential legal knowledge.
The SGMB wishes, through the Job Shadowing Programme, to spread a culture of knowledge and professional empowerment allowing participants to acquire the necessary skills. The Job Shadowing Programme, which was launched in 2019, is a form of practical training based on observation and application, and is part of a precise timetable in which students can benefit from the expertise of professionals and specialists in various media fields. The Dawahi Festival, organized by the Sharjah Suburbs and Villages Department (SDSVA), is a community event that aims to promote social and family welfare.
The annual festival offers various forms of entertainment and activities to strengthen the bond between families and community members, in cooperation with various government and private entities.
