AHMEDABAD: A social media account of a 28-year-old man, a resident of Bopal, was hacked and the hacker demanded 7,000 rupees to return control of the account. When the youngster refused, the hacker posted an obscene photo of an unknown woman on his account.
A complaint in this regard was lodged at the Cybercrime Police Station in Ahmedabad (Rural). The youngster said the social media account in question was about two years old and he had posted photographs on it. He said that on May 31, he received a call message saying that his account had been hacked and if he wanted to regain control of it, he would have to pay 7,000 rupees. The hacker even provided his UPI ID: sharadpatel18649@okicici.
The plaintiff said the hacker threatened to post obscene photos of his profile and defame him. The plaintiff filed an FIR on Friday and produced screenshots of his conversation with the hacker.
In another complaint to the Ahmedabad (rural) cybercrime police station, a 19-year-old resident of Dholka said a stranger harassed him after he hacked into his account by sending messages to mother and sister of the complainant.
The attacker also shared their mobile numbers and harassed them. The complainant said that this person created two identifiers: shaan-radhanpuri_07 and nawab.zade.23. Police have registered an FIR and are continuing their investigation.
