Astros information on spring training, game schedules and media access

HOUSTON, TX –The Houston Astros released the following information following the agreement on a new CBA between Major League Baseball and the MLB Player’s Association yesterday.

Major League Spring Training Camp

The mandatory report date for all players is March 13. Media access to the Astros facility in West Palm Beach will begin March 13 (time TBD). Additional details regarding media access guidelines will be released by MLB in the coming days. To request credentials for Spring Training practices and games, media should use MLB’s online credentials system (credentials.mlb.com). The first day of credential removal will be March 13 at the West Palm Beach resort (time TBD).

Health and Safety Protocols: MLB will provide further updates in the coming days regarding media access policies at the clubhouse, field of play and press room.

Fan Access: Fans are invited to attend Astros Spring Training workouts beginning March 13. For fans, the doors to the Astros facility will open at 10 a.m. ET for practice sessions.

Spring Training Schedule – Revised

The Astros’ first spring training game is Friday, March 18 against the Cardinals in Jupiter, Fla. The Astros are scheduled to play 15 total spring training games against the Cardinals, Marlins, Mets and Nationals. The updated Spring 2022 training schedule is attached to this email. All clubs will play a 162-match schedule. The reigning champion AL Astros will open the 2022 regular season on Thursday, April 7 on the road against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Astros’ 2022 home opener is Monday, April 18 against the Angels (7:10 p.m. first pitch). Updates on a revised 2022 main regular season schedule for all clubs will be announced by MLB early next week. More details on individual game tickets, promotions and Astros promotional items will be released early next week.
