Brendon Cook and Charmaine Moldrich Win Global Outdoor Media Industry Awards

Brendon Cook, who founded oOh!media in 1989, and Charmaine Moldrich, CEO of the Outdoor Media Association (OMA), were honored at the 2022 World Out of Home (WOO) conference in Toronto.

Cook, sometimes called the father of OOH in Australia, won a Lifetime Achievement Award and Moldrich a 2022 Leadership Award.

WOO said, “Moldrich has provided 12 years of inspirational leadership for OMA, including major breakthroughs in audience research and measurement.”

Cook is a former WOO board member and is leading two programmatic OOH panels at the Toronto convention this year.

He was also inducted as the first Honorary Life Member of the World Out of Home Organization Fellowship.

WOO said, “Cook has made oOh! Australia and New Zealand’s leading OOH media company and a major player on the global stage.”

WOO President Tom Goddard said Brendon Cook and Charmaine Moldrich are legends in the global OOH industry.

“No one has done more than Brendon Cook to make OOH a major and premier medium and we are delighted to honor him.”

Goddard says Charmaine Moldrich led her organization through a truly trying time for the industry with “vision, maturity and optimism, three things that characterize great leaders.”

The UK Specsavers campaign, Should’ve gone to Specsavers, won the Classic OOH Award at the World Out of Home World Congress in Toronto. The campaign was produced by Specsavers in-house team, specialist Talon and MGOMD.

The winner of the Digital Out of Home was the Naked Eye 3d+ interactive experience from the Chinese group Dongfang Chuxiao Media

Burr Smith, President and CEO of Broadsign in Canada, also won a 2022 leadership award

Ricardo Queiros da Costa Bastos, director of Dream Media Portugal, won the Rising Star Award.
