NIKOLA Katic appears to be leaving his life at Rangers behind – having erased all mentions of the Ibrox club from his Instagram account.
The Croatian giant, Ibrox’s cult hero, is loaned out to Haduk Split with no indication from new Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst that he wants him back in the Ibrox fold.
We exclusively told you back in August how the Croatian’s injury-ravaged time at Ibrox was OVER.
While ex-boss Steven Gerrard says the loan was simply to bring the player “up to date”, Katic’s future looks more certain than ever to be away from Glagow after Gers bought James Sands for an 18 month loan.
Not only is he a central defender first and foremost, but he was given the number NINETEEN shirt.
This is the jersey that Katic received when he arrived in the Gers in the summer of 2018.
And the Ibrox men could add ANOTHER defender in the form of Hearts star John Souttar, possibly mainly on a free transfer this summer.
Katic’s contract expires this summer – although Hajduk Split have an option to sign him for £3million.
The 25-year-old has played 13 games for Hajduk this season, scoring one goal.

Meanwhile, Ally McCoist believes the deal that brought Nathan Patterson to Everton is ‘a huge sum’ for Rangers given the youngster didn’t even have a game at Ibrox.
The 20-year-old became the Ibrox side’s record transfer outing when he agreed a deal with Goodison which could reach £16m if he sticks to certain incentives.

But his TalkSPORT co-host Alan Brazil wonders if signing a full-back is what Everton need to turn their faltering Premier League fortunes around.
McCoist said: “I like it, I think it’s a good deal all round.
“And I think that’s a massive amount of money for someone who only played 15.16 games and was effectively not in the squad to tell the truth.
“[James] Tavernier kept him away from the team.
“Having said that, really exciting boy, great looking forward, great to watch and I wish him all the best.”
