Australian media figures showed their competitiveness on the golf course during the 2021 Starlight Children’s Foundation Entertainment Industry Golf Day.

The day was held at the Boonie Doon Golf Course in South Sydney in December.

The event, in its 24e year, was the first face-to-face event Starlight has been able to host since the lockdown. Representatives from Foxtel, Kayo, Seven, Nine, Village Roadshow, Stan and Netflix dusted off their irons and took to the greens to show off their golfing prowess.

The day included a full round of golf, as well as a raffle and silent auction. Together, $ 180,000 was raised to help Starlight provide a positive distraction for critically ill and hospitalized children, adolescents and families.

Since 1988, Starlight has partnered with Australian healthcare professionals to develop programs based on principles of positive psychology that support the ‘total empowerment’ of children and adolescents.

Starlight uses play, creativity and social connection to help children and youth through their most difficult times in order to positively change their healthcare experience.

Over the years, the Entertainment Industry Golf Day has raised over $ 2.1 million, providing more than 54,000 hospitalized children with access to Captain Starlight and the Starlight Express Room, creating a more enjoyable experience. positive for sick children and their families.
