Los Angeles. The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, recently filed another complaint against media company Associated Newspapers, publisher of UK tabloid newspapers Daily Mail and The Mail. Musicians Elton John and her husband, producer David Furnish, actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost, and Clarendon publicist Baroness Doreen Lawrence are also suing the media company, Variety reports.
According to a press release from Hamlins, the law firm representing Prince Harry and Frost, the group claims to have been “victims of criminal activity and gross breaches of privacy by associated newspapers”.
According to Variety, court records show that three separate lawsuits for misuse of personal information have been filed in the High Court in London against Associated Newspapers by Gunnerkook on behalf of its clients. Prince Harry and Frost’s trial has yet to be entered into court records, but Hamlins said legal action has been taken.
Among the allegations, the group claims, Associated Newspapers hired private investigators to sabotage their cars and homes, hired people to listen to their phone conversations, gave money to the police to obtain inside information. Collaboration with hospital and clinic employees to access bank accounts and financial transactions.
A spokesperson for Associated Newspapers told Variety, “We deny these allegations, it was just a conspiracy.”
This is Prince Harry’s third lawsuit against The Associated Newspapers. He has also filed a lawsuit for defamation and libel twice before.
During the same period, Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, also sued the publisher for copyright infringement and invasion of privacy. He won the legal battle last December.
