A progressive activist has shut down her Twitter account after receiving a flurry of laughter and criticism over her claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin is aided by white supremacy.
Janel Forsythe has identified herself as a “communications specialist” for nonprofits and progressive causes, but her tweet about Putin had unintended consequences.
“It’s not discussed much, but Putin benefits a lot from white privilege,” Forsythe tweeted.
“I just don’t see a scenario in which a black or brown man running Russia would be allowed to invade Ukraine without devastating consequences (see Crimea in 2014),” she added.
Screenshots of the bizarre tweet were circulated among those who were surprised by his statement.
Others have taken to social media to mock and ridicule Forsythe.
“Amazing. Just amazing,” responded Blaze Media’s Jason Whitlock.
“We found it guys. Ukraine’s worst take, among fierce competition,” responded commentator Inez Stepman.
“It’s a cult. It doesn’t make sense but it doesn’t have to make sense”, read a tweet.
“She needs hospital therapy for this level of schizophrenia and paranoia,” noted another detractor.
“Putin Noir is the answer to our problems” joked an user.
Forsythe has protected his account so no one can read or respond to his tweets.

She also protected her Instagram account.
A full military invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops is expected after Putin announced that they recognize the independence of two regions where his troops have been present for many years. The United States and its allies have responded with economic and financial sanctions against Russia and its leaders.
On Wednesday, Ukraine’s parliament voted to scrap its restrictive gun laws to encourage citizens to arm themselves and defend their country.
