CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Redbox, a leading entertainment company, today announced that it has signed a multi-faceted agreement with Curiosity Inc., the global factual media company, to bring more entertainment options to customers of Redbox. As part of the agreement, Redbox will promote Curiosity’s subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, Curiosity Stream, and include selected Curiosity content on ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD). ) and ad-supported free TV streaming (FAST) services. The companies have also agreed to offer Curiosity Stream as a premium subscription offering when Redbox launches SVOD channels in its streaming app in 2022.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Curiosity Stream SVOD service will be made available to select Redbox customers on a promotional trial basis and promoted on Redbox’s 40,000 digital streaming kiosks and properties. Additionally, Redbox will license Curiosity content to be offered on Redbox’s AVOD and FAST streaming services in the coming months.
