Job Market, Seek selected UM Australia as its new media tendering agency, following a competitive bidding process, ending its relationship with Starcom.
The appointment will now see UM manage media for Seek in the Australian and New Zealand markets, ending its eight-year relationship with agency Publicis.
Seek Marketing Director Maryanne Tsiatsias said, “We would like to thank Starcom for their years of partnership and dedication to the SEEK business. As we enter a new chapter for our organization, we are thrilled to partner with UM and bring them into our team and other partner agencies, TBWA and Adhesive.
Tsiatsias said the brand was impressed with UM’s passion for the business through the pitch process, which was managed by Ebiquity Australia. “We are excited about their collaborative spirit and creative thinking, which will help us further anchor our brand in the hearts and minds of job seekers and employers. The marketing team and I are looking forward to seeing the unique and bold media ideas they will bring. »

UM CEO Anathea Ruys added, “The team was very energized by both the category and what Seek stood for, from the start of the process. Then, as we got to know the people who made up the marketing team, we became even more excited about what a partnership between us might look like. We look forward to delivering powerful dividends to Seek activity. »
The move comes after Tsiatsias became head of marketing at Seek last year, joining from World Vision where she was chief marketing officer.
Shortly after, the brand released a series of campaign videos featuring actor John Heder reprising his role as Napoleon Dynamite, created by the Shared & Earned team at Adhesive and Seek.
The win follows a productive year for UM, which recently saw it retain its business with energy supplier AGL, while retaining ING and adding Dyson to its roster. He is currently awaiting the outcome of a pitch for his client nbn.
