At the end of today, everyone in the Daily Sentinel reading area was able to receive a copy of The Weekender.
This publication – which debuted this week – replaces the Seven Day Sentinel.
We have high hopes for this publication.
We hope you had time to check out the weekly new feature. We hope you had time to explore.
Here’s what we hope you saw:
• All local feature content. No “canned” or syndicated news that any other news source can easily present. In The Weekender, there are only local names. Local faces. Local events.
• Extensive entertainment coverage with events happening throughout the week. We want The Weekender to become a reader-focused source of community event information.
• There are also expanded TV listings.
“The needs and wants of the community are constantly changing,” said Bradley Waters, publisher of Sentinel Media Company, “it was time for a reassessment.”
“As part of our commitment to the community, we continue to review our posts to ensure we provide the best news and information we can offer,” Waters added.
“If you’re one of those people who says there’s never anything to do here, ‘The Weekender’ is begging you to disagree,” said Pam Sperbeck, special publications editor at Sentinel. Media Company. “This project includes entertainment options, expanded TV listings, local features, movie reviews, schedule listings and more. Fascinating stories and fun happenings abound in the Mohawk Valley.
