Publicis Groupe’s Spark Foundry won the global media account Meta (Facebook).
The social media platform subjected his account, worth almost A$1 billion a year, to a review in March.
Industry insiders have confirmed that Spark Foundry in Australia will be working on the account.
The pitch included incumbents WPP and Dentsu, as well as Publicis and Havas.
However, WPP’s media agency, GroupM, which managed Meta’s media operations for seven years, pulled out in July.
The reason for the withdrawal is not known. A report has suggested that Facebook may seek new contract terms regarding liability in the ad buying process.
According to Adweek, Meta said, “We are thrilled to announce that Spark Foundry will be our new global media planning and buying partner for Meta’s entire brand portfolio. Spark Foundry will be responsible for strategic leadership, media innovation, planning and investment, cross-channel approaches, tools, technology and operations.
