There was a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
It has been reported that Disney will no longer be offering media badges for Star Wars Celebration in the future, but the reason remains unclear.
Pierre Sciretta from Screen Rant seemed to be the first media personality to talk about it on Twitter.

He posted an excerpt from an email (presumably) from Disney stating that “please note that there will be no general media applications this year.”
Star Wars Celebration will take place in Europe in 2023, which could factor into the decision.
Star Wars has been a very polarizing franchise on social media, with many influencers loving or hating what Disney has done with the franchise since it bought Lucasfilm in 2012.

There is also the question of just who invite to this stuff.
There was quite a bit of drama surrounding the media guest list for Galaxy’s Edge when it opened at Disneyland in 2019. Star Wars fan podcaster Christian Harloffformerly of Collider, was upset that Disney would rather have younger, more Instagrammable women in attendance than lifelong Star Wars fans.
Maybe Disney just thinks Star Wars is “too big to fail” and they don’t need the extra word of mouth.
You know, how convinced former CEO Bob Iger was that Galaxy’s Edge wouldn’t need marketing. Just before it was hailed as a huge flop.
