The Open University has begun a review of its media planning and buying account.
Havas Media was awarded the £16m account in 2019 following a competitive pitch. Havas London, Havas Media and Havas Helia joined forces, succeeding MediaCom, Lida and Rapp.
The call for tenders was launched on April 12 with a deadline of May 13, 2022 for responses to the questionnaire. Details can be found on the Open University Tender Portal.
He clarifies that OU is looking for an agency to handle media strategy, domestic and international media planning and buying, econometric modeling, campaign optimization, media partnerships and other media deliverables.
Ceri Rose, director of marketing and communications at OU, explained that the pandemic has had a “profound effect” on the online education market and that OU is looking for a media agency to help it “address the challenges ahead.” come and perpetuate the OU brand”.
Rose added, “Our teaching and research at UO is transforming people’s lives, driving economic growth and building more just societies around the world and we need a partner agency who can accelerate our growth and help achieve our mission of providing education for all. ”
OU was created more than 50 years ago to make education more accessible and has trained 2.1 million people. It currently teaches over 168,000 students and its alumni are spread across 157 countries.
Clare Charlton, head of branding and campaigns at OU, explained what the university was looking for in its search for a partner agency: “We are launching a new branding campaign later this year and are looking for an agency that can help fuel the entire student enrollment journey by putting audience data and insights at the heart of our planning.”
