LUCENA CITY — The Facebook account of several public school teachers in this city was hacked and used to solicit “malicious videos” from students.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Schools Division Office of the Department of Education (DepEd) for the City of Lucena (SDO-Lucena) revealed on its Facebook page that “a number of social media accounts from our teachers used for official communication with our student-learners were being hacked.
“Because of this, unidentified hackers were able to send personal messages to student-learners using our teachers’ hacked accounts asking our student-learners to submit videos with sensitive and malicious content as part of the requirements of school,” public school officials said. mentioned.
SDO – Lucena, in coordination with relevant government agencies, is conducting an investigation.
SDO – Lucena reminded teachers “to be vigilant when clicking on emails or SMS (short message service) messages sent to them that compromise their personal information.”
