Celebrities have social media accounts too, but sometimes fans have to spoil things for everyone. Case in point: Apparently Margot Robbie had a Letterboxd account, but she felt like she had to delete it after discovering it. Again, maybe it’s not his account? Here’s what we’ve learned so far.
If you’re not familiar with Letterboxd, it’s basically a social media platform for movie buffs. On the platform, you can rate movies, create lists of your favorites, write reviews and more general movies. It certainly wouldn’t be so far-fetched for an actor like Margot Robbie to have an account. If this is indeed Robbie’s story, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed some lists she’s made for her upcoming roles. Check out this Tweet below that Robbie may have put up for the upcoming Barbie movie:
This kind of list could be the reason why Margot Robbie had to get rid of her account. With movie inspiration lists comes the potential for plot spoilers. After all, why would you need to watch The Truman Show inspiration for the Barbie movie? The classic Jim Carrey film depicts a man who is unaware that he is being filmed in a fake town for a reality show. Maybe it has something to do with Barbie not knowing she’s a toy? Either way, if this list actually made it onto Robbie’s to-watch list, that means speculation may be running wild about the next movie.
Again, Letterboxd posted on Twitter to say that Robbie doesn’t have an account, so maybe this is just one of those times the internet gets it wrong. Check out Letterboxd’s Tweet below:
Barbie is certainly one of the most interesting projects on Margot Robbie’s plate. The movie doesn’t have any plot details, but we do have a shot of Robbie in Barbie’s famous pink convertible. The film has plenty of big names behind it, with Greta Gerwig directing and co-writing the screenplay with Noah Baumbach. Robbie will obviously be playing Barbie, and Ryan Gosling is on board to play Ken. The cast is also stacked with an excellent supporting cast including Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, and more.
There is also a tweet who supposedly has Margot Robbie’s inspiration for her next film Babylon, the latest from director Damien Chazelle. This film is also shrouded in mystery, so any clues are welcome. It’s said to be a Hollywood period piece and the cast is just as stacked as the Barbie film. In addition to Robbie, the film stars Olivia Wilde, Brad Pitt, Tobey Maguire, Samara Weaving, Jean Smart, Eric Roberts and many more.
While it’s unfortunate that Margot Robbie had to take down her Letterboxd account, it’s pretty cool to see the inspiration she’s taking for her upcoming movies. Especially since we don’t know much about them. Luckily, we’ll have at least one Margot Robbie movie by the end of the year with the David O. Russell-directed amsterdamwhich you will be able to discover on November 4th.
