Riyadh — Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi has announced the launch of the “MEDIATHON” media competition, under the theme “Media Race”, to develop and stimulate creativity in media thinking.

Al-Qasabi stressed that MEDIATHON aims to create a competition between media professionals and those who wish to present creative initiatives and quality projects that represent innovative solutions to media challenges, in partnership and cooperation with stc Group.

He said, “We all look forward to receiving creative ideas from our citizens of this country, to achieve a better media future that meets aspirations.”

It should be mentioned that the “Media Race” seeks to attract creative solutions, within the framework of four challenges targeted in its first edition, which are the presentation of traditional media, the collection of media data, monitoring and analysis, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice and the development of international communication.

The project aims to create a participatory creative space for development, to strengthen the impact of the participating projects through the workshops to be presented to the participants and to train the most distinguished teams to help improve the level of the ideas presented. It will also connect the winning teams with the relevant authorities to work on the implementation of these projects.

Project ideas will be submitted through the project portal, Mediathon.media.gov.sa, which will soon begin receiving applications. —SG
